Leadership

Leadership matters—especially in a profession like law enforcement.
Throughout my career, I’ve learned that leadership isn’t about rank or title. It’s about setting the tone, supporting your people, and being willing to step forward when it matters most.
As a Sergeant, my approach has always been to lead from the front—listening to my team, being present, and making sure they have what they need to do their jobs well. Strong leadership builds trust, and trust builds strong teams.
I have extensive experience in incident command and critical incident response throughout my 20 year career in Eagle County. From rapidly evolving emergencies to complex investigations and high-pressure situations, I’ve been actively involved in making real-time decisions, coordinating resources, and supporting both deputies and partner agencies when it matters most. I believe effective leadership requires more than managing from behind a desk—it requires being present, engaged, and willing to step into difficult situations alongside your team.
When deputies feel supported, they perform at a higher level. They communicate better, make better decisions, and serve the community more effectively.
As Sheriff, I will bring that same approach—focusing on accountability, communication, and building a positive culture within the office. My goal is to create an environment where deputies feel valued, supported, and proud of the work they do.
Because strong leadership inside the organization leads to better service outside of it.
